What training does your staff have?

Our staff members each have different qualifications based on the type of education and certification they have completed. We operate according to all licensing requirements regarding staff certification ratios. We also require our staff to get their first aid, criminal record checks, and attend any possible workshops or educational opportunities.

What food do I need to provide for my child at the daycare?

Kids Paradise provide a hot lunch and 2 snacks. If your child arrives early in the morning, you may bring in cereal or breakfast food to be served until 8 a.m. For more information, please see the parent handbook.

What is your sick policy?

Illness If your child has a fever, diarrhea, communicable disease, or has been vomiting, we ask that you keep them at home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. E.g. if your child has been symptom free starting Tuesday at 11:00, the child may return to the centre Thursday morning. This also applies to when Tylenol or any fever-reducing medication is given to your child. If you feel the need to medicate your child, this is a good indicator that your child needs to stay home. If your child develops any of these symptoms while at the Centre, staff will notify you and ask you to make arrangements to pick up your child as soon as possible. Children will be removed to a quiet, supervised location to rest and separate them from others until parents arrive to avoid transmittable illness.

What are your hours? What is your late pick-up policy?

Our centre operates from 6:30 am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Children must be picked up by this time or parents will be charged a late fee of $1 per minute late, with a minimum of a 15-minute charge. This amount can be paid directly to the closing staff member, or it will be applied to your next month's fees. Frequent late pick-up may result in termination of care.

What are your rates?

Childcare rates may vary based on age of the child, number of children enrolled from one family, or other reasons on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire with our director by phone or e-mail for the current rate that meets your specific child care needs.

What ages do you accept?

Our centre currently accepts infants starting at three months of age to children upto 12 years age.

What is your visitation policy?

We have an open-door policy for parents and guardians. While you do not need to make an appointment to enter the centre while your child is in our care, we ask that you check in with the director or senior staff upon arriving for your visit for security purposes.

Do you have field trips?

We have both in-house and off-grounds field trips. Parents will be supplied with permission slips for both types of trips with information regarding the type of field trip, transportation, expected child ratios, and possible volunteer opportunities. There may occasionally be fees for transportation, food, or admission.
